Serving tableware, Hervanta

Come and make personal serving tableware for yourself or as a gift for spring and summer parties. The ceramic tableware is shaped using slab technique. During the day, you will have time to make a large serving plate or a few smaller ones and, for example, a few dip bowls. Several hours are reserved for working, and you also get to glaze your work yourself in a separate glazing session. In the course, you will learn the different stages of making ceramics, the main tools and get ideas for decorating ceramics. During the glazing session, we will practice glazing with clear glaze and a few colored glazes. 

The course is suitable for beginners and those who have already have some experience working with ceramics. In the course you will learn ceramic processes step-by-step under the guidance of a professional teacher.

The course is on Saturday 26.4. at 10-15

Glazing session is on Wednesday 21.5. at 17-19.30

The price of the course is 143 € (member benefit price 121,55 €)

The material fee is paid according to use of the clay. The price of the clay is 9,90 €/ kg and it includes pigments, glaze and firing. All tools needed can be found at Taitokeskus Hervanta. As  a member of Taito Pirkanmaa, you also get a 15% discount on material fees.

Please note that registration for the course is binding. Based on these registrations, the teacher also acquires the necessary equipment and materials for the courses. It is also unfortunate for the other course participants if the course has to be canceled at the last minute due to the low number of participants.

Some of the courses are implemented in cooperation with Opintokeskus Sivis. Opintokeskus Sivis is obliged by law to collect statistical data determined by Tilastokeskus on the participants of the courses, therefore course registrants are asked for some background information, e.g. gender, educational background and language. The data is only processed as large mass data to describe the student profile of liberal arts education.

You can cancel the course free of charge one week before the start of the course, otherwise we will charge the course fee in full. 

We will send an information letter to those who have registered about a week before the start of the course. You can find more detailed information about materials and course content in Info. Please check your spam if the letter does not appear.
